Taking a Shallow Breath- chapter 13
Scorpius wanted to panic, wrestle away from the ropes, throw up- anything! But his arms were bound, and his breathing was irritatingly even, as if he were asleep. It was a terrifying, helpless feeling. All he could do was hope Rose would get to the house and warn her family in time.
"Rose!" he heard a voice yell, but it was from beside him. He was not sure, but the voice sounded familiar.
"Expeliarmus!" shouted Mr Potter.
"Get away from him, you git!" Bellowed James. Scorpius had heard him yelling enough to know that voice.
"James, no!" Rose started yelling from across the yard.
Scorpius had never wanted to crane his neck more in his lif

Rose plaited her hair and looked at herself in the mirror. She was taller than ever, it seemed, and had somehow gained even more freckles over the summer. Studying herself she gave a sigh. Many of her relatives were quite pretty. Her own parents were as handsome as anyone she had ever met, yet somehow she had gotten all the wrong features from them. She got her father’s height, red hair, and freckles. She got her mum’s bushy hair and skinny ankles. This made her look like she’d been pulled on a taffy machine, then a giant red creature had gone to perch upon her slight frame.
She was hoping over the summer she would have fil

When Remus decided to leave
Gleaming jars of newt eyes, plumpy legs and pickled gnome toes sat in the window. He could almost smell them through the glass. He didn't find window displays all that atrocious, usually, but in this case they regrettably blocked his view from the interior of the shop. He wanted to make sure it was clear of anyone other than Mr Jigger about. With a fallen Ministry he could not be too careful when trying to procure his Wolfsbane potion. After a final vain attempt to check the store for any vile customers, he squared his shoulders, took a deep breath, and entered the Apothecary's store.
No one seemed to be about, but he clutched his cloak clos
Their yelling had been going on for weeks, but this was the loudest he had ever heard it. Usually he just closed his door, turned up the wireless, and tried to ignore it. But this time, his curiosity got the better of him. He opened his door and crept up to the banister. From his landing he could see the shadows of his family displayed across the wall, illuminated by the fireplace.
"-and it makes me sick!" he heard Sirius yell.
Father muttered something Regulus couldn't hear. The conversation continued on for a while, and Regulus couldn't hear anything but the occasional "What?" or "No!" thrown in by Sirius. Regulus was not sure if he should
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. ~From a headstone in Ireland
Teddy came through the door in a rush, his letter gripped in his hand.
"I got it! I got it!" he said, doing a jump in the air.
Harry and Ginny were at the breakfast table with Gran, and in seconds their faces split into giant grins. James let out a roar of approval. Lily, covered in jam, giggled and clapped from her high chair, thoroughly amused by all the sounds coming from her brother.
"He got what?" Al asked.
"His Hogwarts letter!"
Al quietly smiled. Even at three he knew it was something good.
"I'm so proud of you, Teddy,"

James Potter: Quidditch Playboy
James was bored. This was not something new for him. For most of his life, he had been bored. He had some fun with his family, and fun on a Quidditch field, but that was about it. Dancing, dinners, dates. Even the sex was getting boring. Some part of him enjoyed it, he supposed, but in the end nothing kept his interest for long.
"And then we spent forever at the photo shoot in bikinis in freezing temperatures. It's like they don't even know who I am or who I'm dating."
This. He hated this. Having to listen to hot chicks whine about how hard it was to be a model. That's it. He would have to spend the rest of his life on a broomstick in order

George attending the funeral
George let out a deep sigh.
This is definitely not how he would want to be remembered, for having the most boring funeral known to man.
"He was an outstanding member of this church for over fifteen years. We will all feel his loss long after he is gone."
"I don't think Uncle Bilius ever went to church," whispered Fred.
"This is the worst funeral I've ever been to," George muttered, hanging his head around his knees. Mum had Percy poke his back and they both gave him stern glares so he would sit up 'properly.'
Charlie was asleep with a piece of drool making its way down his chin. Bill was awake, his unfocused gaze settling somewhere aroun
Scorpius took a shallow breath as the music began to play. What would normally be a cheerful throng seemed more like the screams of a banshee as the organist played with eloquence. Was he the only one that heard that distant screaming noise? Everything felt wrong as Rose started walking down the aisle. She looked more beautiful than he'd ever seen her before, which made him blanch.
She was holding a bouquet of blue hydrangeas that almost perfectly matched her own blue eyes. He wanted to kick himself for helping her pick them out. He had sat beside her as they picked out flowers, chose where the wedding would be, picked the music, and had e

Taking a Shallow Breath-chap 2
The big day is just around the corner.
Your parents must be so proud, Rose.
Arent you excited?
No. Rose was decidedly not excited. The giddy anticipation she had once experienced had recently been invaded by an intermingling of doubts and insomnia, making excitement a far distant feeling. Every time she had slowed her thoughts enough to perhaps sleep, another worry would arrive to distract her. This was the day she should be looking forward to more than any other, but all she could feel was uncertainty. Her family, excluding Al, all seemed beyond jubilant about it. As each day passed, one more

Scorpius Apparated to a secluded alley near his building. He had never much cared for the Apparation spot, as it seemed to be a good place for trash to accumulate, and a favourite spot for the local stray dogs to do a number of unseemly things. He was relieved he didnt land in a pile of something unpleasant, and made his way to the front of his apartment, which resembled the Apparation points alley as much as a unicorn resembled blast-ended skrewt. Scorpius was excessively fond of the home he had. Rose had helped him pick it out.
"Scorpius, this is the one! Rose cried as she spun in the middle of the empty living room.
"I
